Since 1908 Gillet has taken care to select quality products in order to offer a wide range of vegetables which are harvested in the respect of the seasonality of the product, prepared and packaged by hand, free of colouring and preservatives.

From its production plant at Connerré, Gillet transforms vegetables from regions which historically produce the best varieties : leek whites and little new turnips of Val de Loire, “Calibrées du Nord” chicories, green lentils of Puy, beans of Vendée...

Gillet manufactures hosts of vegetables, which makes it atypical on the market : products of additional range with a high gustative acuteness, recognized in many French restaurant guides (Le Petit Futé, Guide des Gourmands, Guide Champérard, Guide Michelin...).

Thanks to an experienced and versatile staff devoted to Gillet know-how and a flexible and reactive tool, we guarantee the respect of the product, its quality and its taste. As soon as the vegetables are harvested in fields, they are immediately packaged to preserve their optimum quality and authenticity.

Gillet keeps giving the priority to the human size of the firm based on the know-how of its employees. The constant search for sources of supply (active partnership with Val de Loire market gardeners - about ten) allows Gillet to offer quality products.

The Gillet quality is the respect of :

• the seasonality of vegetables
• the quality of selected vegetables
• the origin of vegetables from regions which historically produce the best
• the very short period between the harvesting and the manufacturing
• the care given to vegetables during their preparation
• the packaging made by hand for the most fragile vegetables
• the preparation of vegetables free of colouring and preservatives (According to the current regulations)
• the rigour of the sterilization scales

The firm has its own laboratory and carry out continuous and rigorous quality controls in the respect of HACCP methods.

Gillet brand is present in large-scale distribution, wholesale distribution and delicatessens. Its vegetables are packaged in cans (4/4, 1/2 and 5/1 sizes), in glass jars (228 ml, 446 ml, 720 ml …), in containers adapted to microwave ovens (solo, or 1/4 Gastro) and in soft bags (3/1 and 5/1 sizes).

The combination of technologies (continuous improving of production lines, equipment and packaging) and quality continues as the seasons go by with Gillet-Contres, Vegetable Master since 1908.
